CSA Week #16 (EOW Group #2)

This Week's Harvest:

Red Potatoes--We source organic potatoes from our farm partners at Driftless Organics in Soldiers Grove, WI

Delicata Squash----The sweetest of the winter squash!  They make a perfect side dish with a little butter and salt, or roast and stuff them for a main dish. The skin is thin and tasty--no need to peel.

Yellow and Red Onions-- Fully cured, these all-purpose onions can sit on the counter.

CSA Week #14 (EOW Group #2)

This Week's Harvest:

Fennel, Eggplant or Summer Squash--You'll choose several from this group. I can't get enough fennel in the late summer!

Spaghetti Squash--This first of the winter squash collection is making a comeback these days!  Who doesn't love a squash who tries its best to be pasta??  Enjoy with the last tomatoes, try a sesame noodle sauce, or (my favorite) just load it up with shredded parmesan, butter and cracked pepper :).… read more »

Fennel or Summer Squash--Late summer fennel is amazing with tomatoes, but we know it's not for everyone!  Zucchini is going strong but not for much longer...

Cherry Tomatoes--So sweet!  Our U-pick is open to pick more as well.  Overstocked?  Roast them with garlic and olive oil and freeze for fantastic winter pasta and pizza toppings.

Opal Basil—dark purple variety that makes beautiful magenta colored lemonade (see included recipe card).  Use for a colorful caprese salad.

Fresh Grilling Onions-- A mix of sweet heirloom onions--red and yellow.  It's one of my favorite crops and favorite foods to use.  These fresh onions are flavorful and juicy, and caramelize quickly when cooked--perfect for grilling and roasting.  Store these in the fridge, as they are not yet cured for counter storage.
