CSA Week #14 (EOW Group #2)

This Week's Harvest:

Broccoli OR Green Beans--Our fall broccoli crop is starting to mature and should be with us for a while, but green beans may not.

Cherry Tomatoes--Sun golds or a mixture of varieties.  Quantities are waning, and the days are numbered for these sweet gems.

Rainbow Chard OR Curly Kale--Your choice of tender fall greens.

CSA Week #13 (EOW Group #1)

This Week's Harvest:

Watermelon OR Cantaloupe--Plenty of sweet, red-fleshed melons this week.  Our cantaloupe production has been very low, but the melons we've harvested have been excellent!

Eggplant, Zucchini, or Radishes--these items will be in a choice bin--choose your favorites!

Cherry Tomatoes--Sun golds or a mixture of varieties.  Quantities are waning, and the days are numbered for these sweet gems.

Rainbow Chard--Crisp and tender--these cold nights sure benefit the greens!

CSA Week #12 (EOW Group #2)

This Week's Harvest:

Watermelon--Yeah!  Most of the melons are red-fleshed this week, but there will be a few orange ones and maybe even a few cantaloupe to choose from.

Eggplant and/or Summer Squash/Zucchini--these items will be in a choice bin--choose your favorites!

Cherry Tomatoes--Sun golds or a mixture of varieties.

Kale--The first of our fall greens--SO TENDER!!  We're very excited about them!  Choice of Red Russian or Green Curly Kale.

Sweet Corn--Our farm partners at Crossroads Community Farm provide organic sweet corn to our CSA.  It's our last week for it!

Blueberries--Another installment from our farm partners at Flyte Family Farm.  They raise organic blueberries in Coloma, WI.

Eggplant--Grilled, roasted, broiled with lots of olive oil.  One of our favorite summertime flavors.

Cherry Tomatoes--Sun golds, food of the gods

Cabbage--Thin tender leaves make these small cabbages ideal for fresh slaw and stir fry.

CSA Week #6 (EOW Group #2)

This Week's Harvest:

Summer Crisp Lettuce--Very crisp and crunchy.  Summer Crisp is very similar to Romaine

Carrots--Crisp and sweet, more to come

Broccoli--This week's heads are not as pretty.  The heat and heavy rain set in--still delicious though!

Kohlrabi--Peel and slice for a crisp sweet crudite (great with hummus), or cube into stir fries.

Fennel--Delicious anise flavor, excellent grilled with summer squash and sausage or shaved into salad.

CSA Week #5 (EOW Group #1)

This Week's Harvest:

Summer Crisp or Romaine Lettuce--Very crisp and crunchy.  Summer Crisp is very similar to Romaine

Carrots--First of the season!  We were finally able to start digging them this week 🙂

Broccoli--Finally!  Our harvests remain small, and this week's broccoli is supplemented with a harvest from our friends at Crossroads Community Farm.
