Fresh Grilling Onions-- A mix of sweet heirloom onions--red and yellow.  It's one of my favorite crops and favorite foods to use.  These fresh onions are flavorful and juicy, and caramelize quickly when cooked--perfect for grilling and roasting.  Store these in the fridge, as they are not yet cured for counter storage.

 Strawberries!--We work with an organic grower in Door County to provide strawberries in the share, Healthy Ridge Farm.  Dan and his family have been providing berries to our CSA for 4 years.

CSA Week #3 (EOW Group #1)

This Week's Harvest:

Summer Crisp or Oakleaf Lettuce-- Choice of crunchy, Romaine-like Summer Crisp or tender Oakleaf

Radishes--Red variety with medium spice

Spinach--Another big bag!

Frisee--Frilly green in the chicory family.  Excellent in combination with lettuce in a salad, or used on its own in many French and Italian recipes.  Mildly bitter and juicy, it mellows when cooked.

Oakleaf Lettuce-- Tender, sweet leaves are wonderful for simple salads with a light dressing.

Radishes--Red variety with medium spice

Spinach--Another big bag!

Salad Mix--mix of 10 lettuce varieties

Green Curly Kale--Our favorite for Kale Chips and steaming.  It's also a great choice for this Sesame Kale Salad.  So delicious!

Pea Shoots--Crunchy sweet pea taste.  Use on sandwiches and salads

CSA Week #1 (EOW Group #1)

This Week's Harvest:

Romaine Lettuce--Beautifully large heads!  After weathering the food safety issues of winter store-bought romaine, we couldn't be happier to be harvesting these lovelies.

Salad Turnips and Radishes--Bagged together and delicious together in salads or as a raw snack.  The salad turnips in particular are one of our favorite spring vegetables!

Spinach--A big bag, enough for a batch of Spinach Zuppa and some salads besides.

Late Fall Share Week #4 (EOW Group #2)

This Week's Harvest:

Sweet Potatoes--This week's sweet potatoes are a mix of our traditional orange and a purple-skinned, white fleshed Japanese variety.  These ones are milder and nuttier, and are wonderful roasted!

Celeriac--Celeriac, or celery root, can be used in place of celery in many soups, stews, roasts, or braises.  Just cut back the gnarly outer skin to reveal the white root inside.
