CSA Week #4 (EOW Group #2)

This Week's Harvest:

Summer Crisp Lettuce--Very crisp and crunchy, similar to Romaine

Beets--Red variety with beautiful tops.

Napa Cabbage--Tender juicy Asian cabbage, can be used for slaw or salads like the one below

Rainbow Chard--Colorful saute/cooking green.  It's excellent in egg dishes, summer soups, and simply sauteed with garlic scapes

CSA Week #3 (EOW Group #1)

This Week's Harvest:

Romaine or Summer Crisp Lettuce--Both very crisp and crunchy

Beets--Red variety with beautiful tops.

Spinach--Another big bag of big tender leaves.

Frisee--Frilly chicory green with great texture and a slighly bitter taste.  Great in wilted salads, mixed with lettuce,  or charred on the grill.

This Week's Harvest:

Romaine Lettuce--Super crunchy and HUGE

Sweet Salad Turnips--excellent raw on salads, or sautéed with their greens.  One of our favorite spring vegetables!

Radishes--Bagged red and pink varieties.

Scallions--Mild and tender, use in place of onions just about anywhere.

Spinach--Another big bag of big tender leaves.

Salad Mix--mix of 10 lettuce varieties

Spinach/Baby Kale--Harvested from the hoop house, very clean and tender.  Excellent for hearty salad or as a saute/soup green.
