This Week's Harvest:

Blueberries--Another installment from our farm partners at Flyte Family Farm.  They raise organic blueberries in Coloma, WI.

Eggplant--Grilled, roasted, broiled with lots of olive oil.  One of our favorite summertime flavors.

Cherry Tomatoes--Sun golds, food of the gods

Cabbage--Thin tender leaves make these small cabbages ideal for fresh slaw and stir fry.

Sweet Corn--Our farm partners at Crossroads Community Farm provide organic sweet corn to our CSA.

Summer Squash/Zucchini--Use interchangeably in recipes

Green Beans--This week's beans are so sweet!  Cool nights keep them crisp and tasty.

Yellow Onions-- All purpose onions.

Cucumbers--Enjoy while you can!  The cucumbers are slowing down with the cool temps.

Fresh Garlic--Yeah!  Our first bulbs just came out of the ground.  This juicy fresh stuff packs a punch!

Salsa Verde Kit--One of our FAVORITE THINGS to distribute!  All the fixings for a delicious tomatillo salsa, complete with recipe.

Tomatoes--Finally!  It's a late season for sure.  This is the first week for U-pick, with limits posted to spread the love.

Broccoli or cauliflower--More beautiful broccoli, and a bit of cauliflower in the mix--it's been a rough summer for the cauliflower...

Beets--A mix of red and Chioggia (candy-striped) beets.

 

Storage:

Most vegetables this week will keep best in plastic in the refrigerator for 1-2 weeks.   Onions and garlic can sit on your counter and will keep for months.  Cabbage and beets will keep up to a month in your fridge.

 

This Week's U-Pick: 

It's a big week!  Tomatillos, spicy peppers, and sauce tomatoes are open for picking.  NOTE that our tomato patch is not producing well this year, and limits will be posted to spread the love 🙂

Flowers (no stem limit). Herbs--Basil, cilantro, dill, mint, rosemary, chives, sage, thyme, oregano, lavender, sorrel, tarragon, and lemon balm are available for picking this week.
