CSA Week #11 (EOW Group #1)


This Week's Harvest:

Watermelon--Yeah!  Choice of red or orange flesh

Eggplant and/or Summer Squash/Zucchini--these items will be in a choice bin starting this week--choose your favorites!.

Cherry Tomatoes--Sun golds, food of the gods

Sweet Corn--Our farm partners at Crossroads Community Farm provide organic sweet corn to our CSA.  It's our last week for it!

Green Beans--This week's beans are so sweet again!  Cool nights keep them crisp and tasty.

Yellow Onions-- All purpose onions.

Cucumbers--Better harvest this week than last.

Garlic--Now fully cured for storage

Bell and Sweet Italian Peppers--We're starting to see some color (aka sweetness) this week! 

Tomatoes--Lots this week!  AND the U-pick cherry and sauce tomatoes are open!  

Sweet Banana Peppers--Sweet, crisp and mild.  Great salad peppers, but also good in ratatouille or stir fry.

Lettuce--Summer Crisp Variety

Carrots--Carrots are back!  Larger size, the first of our fall variety.

Cilantro or Basil--More of both in the Herb Garden


EOW Members Only:

Cabbage--Thin tender leaves make these small cabbages ideal for fresh slaw and stir fry.




Most vegetables this week will keep best in plastic in the refrigerator for 1-2 weeks.   Onions and garlic can sit on your counter and will keep for months.  Cabbage and beets will keep up to a month in your fridge.


This Week's U-Pick: 

Tomatillos, spicy peppers, and sauce tomatoes are open for picking!  Harvest Limits this week will be post at the patch.  Sauce tomato limit increased to 2 bag!

Flowers (no stem limit). Herbs--Basil, cilantro, dill, mint, rosemary, chives, sage, thyme, oregano, lavender, sorrel, tarragon, and lemon balm are available for picking this week.
