Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is the heart and soul of Blue Moon Community Farm.  We are not just growing vegetables, and our members are not just buying them.  We are joined together in an effort to eat well, know the face and the story of the food we eat, and share in a relationship with the land.  It allows us to grow the best produce that we possibly can, knowing that we have the support of a community of eaters.  The result is the best farming, the best food, and the best relationship we can have with the world around us.

This is our most popular and most traditional CSA program. Members visit the farm to collect their shares, and have the opportunity to see the change of seasons and life of the farm firsthand.

**Note: We do not deliver shares to pick-up sites off the farm. We are a farm-centered CSA with pick-up here at the farm. In 2024, we will continue to offer both drive-up and walk-up distribution at the farm. We also host a weekly Farm Stand alongside the CSA for purchasing extras throughout the season.

Program Details:

• Weekly and Every-Other-Week Shares (EOW): Choose how frequently you visit the farm. EOW Shares are a great choice for smaller households, families who tend to travel more, and those that would like flexibility.
• Traditional Share: Experience the full season of bounty from the fields with all that our farm has to offer! Expect 9-12 items per week, with a balanced variety each week.
• Basic Share: Enjoy the staples with a smaller share that highlights our 20 most popular crops! Available weekly or every-other-week, this share is great for small households, picky eaters, and those who prefer the basics over the wide diversity in our Traditional Share.
• Late Fall Shares: Our favorite share! Extend the harvest season into November with 4 more weeks of Fall favorites, including greens from our hoop houses, onions, garlic, squash, root vegetables, and other hearty crops.
• Spring Share: Load up on early-season goodies in May and early June with this 6-week Share.
• Egg Shares: Add organic eggs to your pick-up through our farm partners at Prairie Bluff Farm in Mt. Horeb, WI
• Apple Shares: We partner with the organic orchard Atoms to Apples in Mt. Horeb to provide organic apples and fresh pressed cider alongside your vegetable share. We are offering BOTH a Summer and a Late Fall Apple Share.
• 2024 Pick-up Schedule: Our CSA distribution is on Wednesdays

  Spring Share Season 3-6pm May 1-June 5, (6 weeks)

  Main Season 3-7pm June 12 to Oct 9 (18 weeks)

  Late Fall Season 3-6pm Oct 16 -Nov 6 (4 Weeks)

• U-Pick Opportunities: We offer U-Pick herbs, flowers, and canning vegetables at no additional cost to our members. It's a fun way to add tremendous value to your share and connect with the farm!
• Farm Events: We offer several farm events each season, starting with our Farm Kids Workshops in March and our Open House and Plant Sale in May. In 2024, we are planning several special events to commemorate 20 years of CSA!
• Weekly Newsletter: Keep up with the farm season and your vegetables with notes from the field, recipes, and storage tips
• Farm-raised Meats: We always keep a few "Meater greeter" pigs on the farm--they are wonderful vegetable composters!--and we offer the pork for purchase at the end of the season.

**SCHEDULE:** We will be vending at the Westside Community Market from April 20 through June 8, and August 3 through November 2, 2024. Our Farm Stand at the farm is open throughout the season on Wednesdays and Market Share credit can be used there as well!

Our Market share program offers our customers at the Westside Community Market an opportunity to support the farm at the start of the growing season by paying ahead for their season of market shopping! The market itself runs on Saturdays 7:00am-12:30pm, April through November.

The Market Share is a free-choice system, and is first come, first serve. Our most satisfied customers are those with a flexible menu and who shop before 10am for best selection.

Please also note that the market moved locations in 2023. The new location is 505 S. Rosa Road in Madison.
