So many hands

While we still have more market days and Late Fall Shares to distribute, this week marks the end of our main season CSA and a big change in how we spend our days at the farm.  For the past 5 months, we have planted, tended, harvested, and distributed vegetables with the help of many hands.  This year, we were joined by a wonderful group of worker shares who worked 4 hours/week in the field in exchange for their CSA share, and this is their last week with us.  Some have been a part of the farm for over 10 years, and for others it was their first experience on any farm at all.  A huge thank you to Danny, Angela, Dean, Ernie, Chloe, Derek, Steve, Pat, Linda, Jordan,  Robyn, Natalie, Darcy, Chris, Cathy, and Jacob for being a part of the farm this year!!  We are very lucky to have you.

A merry sweet potato harvest

Our transition out of the main season also means that we say good-bye to some of our employees who are moving on to other adventures.  Thank you to Luke and Ali and good luck!! Our lean crew of Kate, Brian, Raluca, and Billy will finish out the season, harvest our remaining crops, plant our garlic for next year, put our fields to rest, and work away on repair and building projects for the next month or so.  By Thanksgiving, all of our employees are finished for the season and my work shifts to budgeting and planning for next season. I am very fortunate to work with such a talented, thoughtful, and FUN crew.  I love what I do and so do they, and it makes working together so very satisfying.  Thank you!! Finally, many thanks to all of YOU who have become part of our farm community, supported the work that we do, and shared in a bountiful harvest season.  We wish you a warm and cozy winter if we don't see you before then! Love, Kristen
